Chelsea's new kit favours Lampard and Torres
UNITED SLIP UP AS LADY LUCK SHINES ON WIGAN
Wigan fully deserved their first victory against Manchester United, ever!
Roberto Martinez’s men came out of the blocks determined to drive the game to United, much as they had done previously against Chelsea, but this time they enjoyed the rub of the green for the key decisions as a solitary Shaun Maloney goal was enough to give Wigan three massive points.
Martinez’s men were clinging on towards the end, as you would expect facing United chasing a goal, however, Fergie’s men looked out of sorts all night and will have no complaints despite having two penalty appeals turned away.
The Manchester derby at the end of April is now looking tastier than ever… Game on!
CHELSEA’S NEW KIT FOR 2013 PROVIDES SUMMER TRANSFER HINTS
Chelsea have unveiled photos of their new kit for next season which to the untrained eye looks pretty much the same as this year’s. Those with slightly more attention to detail will notice kit suppliers adidas have gone the way of Real Madrid’s current stylish number by adding a dash of gold.
Those who wish to delve deeper still may notice Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres are grimacing in the promotion shots, which according to one publication at least, hints that both will be at Stamford Bridge next season.
The signs look ominous for Drogba, Terry, and Cole however, especially when you consider the Daily Mail’s assertion that Mr. Abramovich, rather than being fed up with his expensive plaything, is planning to offer the manager (no mention whom) a transfer list of the world’s best players from which to choose. Looks like we could be in for an interesting summer of speculation at the Bridge….
JUVENTUS EYE PREMIER LEAGUE STAR DUO
The Old Lady have gone transfer-rumour-berserk ahead of their return to Champions League football next season and would like nothing more than Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic and ‘will-he-won’t-he’ Fernando Torres, to bring back the glory days to Turin.
EXODUS OF STALWARTS
Football is becoming a young man’s game, especially in the hustle and bustle of the Premier League apparently, which could be the reason why rumours linking Dirk Kuyt and Ledley King away from English football are surfacing.
Or perhaps it’s because Kuyt has done his service to Liverpool and King’s infamous dodgy knee has finally taken its toll on perhaps the greatest centre back never to train.
ON THE CONTINENT
Ronaldo is at it again. The mercurial Madrid marksman bagged a hat trick to take his tally to 52-goals and give Mourinho’s men a 4-1 victory over city-rivals Atletico. Barca now chase a four-point gap with El Clasico yet to come.
Alessandro Del Piero came off the bench to curl home a beautiful free-kick that gave Juve a 2-1 win over Lazio. With no signs of a his contract being renewed, what chance the 37-year old might fancy a crack at the Premier League?
