Man United Go Transfer Crazy, Arsenal Clear The Decks & Milan Reject City Approach

United have been linked with Michu

UNITED’S TRANSFER SHOPPING LIST GROWS

The names of Everton’s Leighton Baines and Rayo Vallecano’s Michu are the latest to surface as potential transfer targets for Manchester United. The Everton left-back is rumoured to be open to a £12m move whilst we are told that the highest scoring midfielder in La Liga last season could be heading to Old Trafford for as little as £3m.

The papers are quick to add a striker to United’s spending spree this morning with Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewdowski the man in the frame. However, Sir Alex is urged to move quickly for the Poland international whose £18m valuation could rocket off the back of a successful Euro 2012.

Meanwhile, the latest on the Eden Hazard saga is that the Lille hotshot will make an announcement on his preferred destination in the next ten days… Count on plenty more names to fill the rumour mill between then and now.

ARSENAL PLAN MAJOR CLEAR OUT

Should Lewdowski leave Dortmund then the German champions have set their eyes on Nicklas Bendtner as a potential replacement. The Dane is just one of seven players on the verge of exiting Arsenal with Denilson, Sebastien Squillaci and Johan Djourou also mentioned as Arsene Wenger makes room for new blood.

Yann M’Vila, who has been linked to Arsenal all summer, now appears too pricey with Toulouse captain Etienne Capoue seen as a cheaper alternative.

MAN CITY REBUKED BY MILAN. TWICE.

The Italian giants where quick to slam the door on the English champions by insisting Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva are going nowhere this summer. Milan may be holding out a good deal but City have the luxury now of being able to approach and afford anyone.

SPURS COULD REPLACE DEFOE WITH REMY

The news that Jermain Defoe is heading into Euro 2012 uncertain over his Spurs future may well have something to do with Marseille striker Loic Remy’s desire to move to White Hart Lane. The Frenchman has not been put off by Tottenham’s failure to reach the Champions League but could well be turned off the idea should Harry Redknapp leave.

Meanwhile, Spurs could let Niko Kranjcar and Vedran Corluka both move to Dynamo Kiev. The Ukrainian side could seal the double swoop for £10m.
