PETERBOROUGH UNITED v SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 17.20, London Road
In the second of the Championship relegation play-offs, Sheffield Wednesday travel to Peterborough hoping to get the point they need to ensure they’ll play Championship football next season. Peterborough’s 10-game unbeaten run came to an end at the worst possible time, just as Darren Ferguson’s side looked like they might climb out of the relegation battle.
Wednesday’s single-point target should be an achievable goal. The Owls have collected ten draws already this season, with both of their last two matches ending all-square. Dave Jones told the media last week that he didn’t care to look at the league table as the permutations could drive someone mad if too much focus is given to them.
What to look out for: Peterborough’s Derby defeat last weekend saw them concede three goals for the first time since they lost 3-0 in the FA Cup defeat against Norwich in early January. The chances of Wednesday scoring three are slim.
