The official Premier League website has announced the return of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea – a day too early.
The Real Madrid boss –he was definitely in charge of the Spanish club yesterday when they finished the season with a 4-2 home win over Osasuna – has been on his way to Stamford Bridge for the past six months.
The self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ cut a surprisingly sheepish figure at the Bernabeu as he waved farewell to fans after a disappointing season for Real and received a very mixed reception; they finished runners-up in domestic league and cup, and were beaten semi-finalists in the Champions League.
But the story released this morning but dated Monday June 3 announces the 50-year-old’s return to Chelsea after a six-year-absence.
