Like Santa Claus, the FA knows if you’ve been bad or good and they are rewarding those who uphold the virtues of the game with this weekend’s FA Respect and Fair Play Awards.
Now in their second year, the awards recognise the unsung heroes of English football, celebrating those that do their utmost to drive up standards of behaviour, supporting referees and promoting an awareness of Fair Play in the next generation of players.
This year’s winners will be getting the champagne treatment ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Stoke City at Wembley. Each winner will receive the Bobby Moore Individual Award and a cash prize to be spent for the benefit of football.
Dermot Collins, FA Respect Manager, said: “The winners of these awards really deserve the recognition they will receive at the FA Cup Final. They have promoted Respect in a league, club or school and as a consequence improved the experience of the game for everyone involved.”
