Samuel Eto’o brought the bang to go with his bucks to get his Anzhi career off to a scoring start, while Igor Akinfeev’s season has finished with a bang after a collision in Super Derby with Spartak left him with ruptured cruciate ligaments. Elsewhere, Zenit stormed back into joint first place owing to a hat-trick from Aleksandr Kerzhakov.
ROSTOV 1 – 1 ANZHI MAKHACHKALA
All eyes were on this game last Sunday due to the arrival of Samuel Eto’o, and the Cameroonian – on as a sub after 54 minutes – struck with 10 minutes of the match remaining to equalise for Anzhi.
Although Eto’o got the headline writers twitching, his goal owed much to the brilliance of Yuri Zhirkov who danced through the Rostov defence.
That cancelled out Kalachev’s lovely free-kick which openined the scoring after 72 minutes. Anzhi have now dropped to fifth-place while Rostov are fourteenth.

SPARTAK MOSCOW 2 – 2 CSKA MOSCOW
While everyone looked to Eto’o on Sunday, Saturday was all about this classic Russian derby, and fireworks duly exploded when Welliton clattered into CSKA keeper, Akinfeev, whose heavy landing ruptured his cruciate ruling him out for six months.
Welliton then opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time when he glanced in after good work from Kombarov before Doumbia notched a scruffy equaliser on 51 minutes.
Then former Manchester Utd man, Zoran Tosic, put the Armymen ahead on 69 minutes after a nice one-two, but Spartak new-boy, Emenike, produced an explosive finish with 15 minutes left on the clock to ensure the points were shared. Spartak are up to sixth while CSKA are now joint top.

ZENIT ST. PETERSBURG 5 – 0 FC KRASNODAR
A hat-trick from Kerzhakov was the driving force behind Zenit’s crushing victory. Danny was the architect for the first two, with Kerzhakov converting a penalty on 79 minutes to seal his hat-trick after Zyryanov was felled.
Roman Shirokov finished neatly to add a fourth on 85 minutes before Danny got the goal his performance deserved, lobbing the keeper in the game’s dying moments. Zenit now go level on points with CSKA at the top, FC Krasnodar are now ninth.

DYNAMO MOSCOW 2 – 0 SPARTAK NALCHIK
Good work from right-winger Samedov led to Kevin Kuranyi opening the scoring from inside the six-yard box after 17 minutes – the German international would now seem to have rediscovered his scoring knack.
And Igor Semshov netted his ninth of the season – a cracking drive – on 35 minutes to seal the points for Dynamo. Dynamo remain third while Nalchik lie in fifteenth place.

VOLGA NIZHNY NOVGOROD 3 – 1 TEREK GROZNY
Volga recorded a fine result to end a wretched run of five games without a win – nor even a single goal.
Tursunov started the scoring after 18 minutes before Gogua struck the goal of the game, a smart turn and shot, on 39 minutes. Khodzhava converted a penalty after 55 minutes to put Volga three-up and Pavlenko scored a consolation goal for Terek with five minutes of normal time to play.
Volga are now twelfth, Terek tenth.

KUBAN KRASNODAR 0 – 1 LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW
Former Manchester City flop, Felipe Caicedo, nodded-in from close-range to open his account for Loko and plunder all the points. Loko now lie in seventh, Kuban eighth.

RUBIN KAZAN 1 – 0 KRYLIYA SOVETOV SAMARA
‘One-nil to the Ruby’ has become a familiar sight under Kurban Berdiev over the past few years and Vladimir Dyadyun’s effor on 37 minutes ensured Berdiev’s favourite scoreline was, again, achieved.
Rubin are fourth while Kryliya are rock bottom.

TOM TOMSK 0 – 0 AMKAR PERM
Tomsk are the league’s third-worst scorers and contrived to miss a first-half penalty, while Perm are the league’s second-worst scorers so it was no surprise this one finished goalless. Tomsk lie thirteenth, Perm are eleventh.
