The England Footballers Foundation Charity Cup Set For Kick Off

The England Footballers Foundation are hosting ‘The EFF Charity Cup’ for the second year running on Thursday 29th November 2012 at the London Soccer Dome.

All proceeds from the 16 team football tournament will be going to EFF’s Charity Partners, Cancer Research UK and their own Outreach Programme that supports disadvantages children across England. Teams will be coached by football legends and celebrities, with members of the current England squad in attendance at the event.

Speaking about the event England defender Ashley Cole said: “Last year’s event was a great success. This year we are looking forward to seeing familiar faces and new challengers to compete for the 2012 EFF Charity Cup.”

England’s midfielder Frank Lampard added: “Not only will it be another fantastic evening of football and entertainment but importantly it will raise vital funds for good causes.”

The England team launched their charity in 2007 and have raised over £2.5million for charities including Children’s Hospices UK, WellChild, the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK and the Professional Footballers Association charity initiatives.
