So forecasters reckon we’re in for a deluge of rain and freezing winds coming in off the Atlantic this week and it’s obvious who your first concern will be for. Pensioners surviving with old heaters? It also has a neat skill in being able to aid muscle warm up and improve efficiency through compression, something many a beer gut will be glad of. The emphasis, of course, is on being lightweight but comfortable and there have been some significant developments in this area in recent years by big hitters such as Nike and Adidas.

Under Armour have managed to get some big names from football and beyond, including Bobby Zamora and Paul Robinson, on board and are likely to be a force to be reckoned with.
