So forecasters reckon we’re in for a deluge of rain and freezing winds coming in off the Atlantic this week and it’s obvious who your first concern will be for. Pensioners surviving with old heaters? Farmers battling the elements in the fields? No, of course it’s footballers and how they will cope jogging around in the chilly climate.
Never fear because a new wave of second skin has hit professional football in the form of, well, posh vests. The latest in these trends is the stylish Under Armour range.
Thriving in temperatures under 13°C, the new ColdGear kit features double-sided fabric that aids circulation and keeps moisture from the skin. It also has a neat skill in being able to aid muscle warm up and improve efficiency through compression, something many a beer gut will be glad of. The emphasis, of course, is on being lightweight but comfortable and there have been some significant developments in this area in recent years by big hitters such as Nike and Adidas.
Under Armour have managed to get some big names from football and beyond, including Bobby Zamora and Paul Robinson, on board and are likely to be a force to be reckoned with.
If you fancy getting your hands on one, enter our competition and stave off those winter worries.
We also have 10 exclusive Under Armour beenie hats up for grabs, essential in these temperatures!
